So if you know me, then you are in no way surprised that our nursery is Winnie the Pooh themed. And “classical” Winnie the Pooh at that (I don’t do red). And you also probably wouldn’t be surprised to know that this is in fact my second Winnie the Pooh nursery (you can read about the first one here – and get these details on how I came upon these “classical” and “vintage” treasures!).
As mentioned in my previous blog post, a “Classical” Winnie the Pooh nursery has been on my docket for YEARS. So I absolutely was not changing themes with a second baby, and even though we moved between our first and our second I absolutely just re-did the same nursery in our new house!
Sure, I had a few new tweaks, but how could I not repeat?!?
If you read my other blog, you know I long since have had an affinity for a green nursery. And I really wanted to repeat that in nursery #2. But here’s the thing…it got complicated and I needed simplistic having just moved and being pregnant.
We had just moved into a new build, but we didn’t get to pick the paint colors. So here I had these freshly painted walls (Egret White, if you were curious. Although I’d say “white” is a very loose term…another story for another day…), and while they were neutral, I felt like I needed a little pop of color since all my décor was so neutral. Insert second dilemma – our kids bedrooms are quite big. Which is awesome! But we realllllyyy didn’t want to repaint. AND I really wanted to paint both bedrooms at the same time. We did not have the capacity for that – so I compromised and went with one color that could go in both rooms, and I just did an accent wall in each, using Sherwin Williams “Fresh Idea.”
And that my friend, is how we went from a green Winnie the Pooh nursery, to blue.
Anyway! Most everything else transferred quite well from one nursery to the next! I did do a few new things…like the décor above the changing table, and the blanket ladder (that my husband made!). Oh, and definitely got some new sheets – the others were quite worn! But I mean, how cute were these new ones from Target?!
All in all – Winnie the Pooh Nursery #2 was a success! And if you too want a sweet Pooh Bear themed nursery, well look no further for not 1 but 2 room ideas!
