Time really is a thief…there’s just no way around it! Our little Haddon Bear turned 1 this week, so we celebrated with a little party last weekend. And what else would we celebrate with than a ONE Hundred Acre Woods Party?? Did I have a Winnie the Pooh themed 1st Birthday Party for Brother as well? Yep! Sure did! But here’s the thing…the parties were 2.5 years apart and I wanted to do the same 1 year old photo shoots with Pooh and Friends. So I went for it!
Same theme, new inspirations. And if you know me at all, you know I love to plan/host a party (probably more so than attending if I’m being honest). So challenge accepted to make Winnie the Pooh party, round 2!
Let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?
To me, especially with kids parties, themed food is the key. All you need is a little creativity with the names, themed stickers, and some little white place cards (oh and someone with pretty handwriting – which in my case is my mom!). And the food, of course!
So here was the line up for this ONE Hundred Acre Woods Party:
Rabbits Garden and Eeyore’s House for some light appetizers/snacks.
Piglet’s Pink Lemonade to drink.
Silly Ole Bear Sloppy Joes, Tigger Tail Macaroni, Christopher Robin’s Chicken Nuggets, and Pooh Bear’s PBJ (complete with Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore cookie cutters circa 1995).
Smash Cake for the Birthday Boy and Cupcakes for everyone else! So here’s the deal on the smash cake…for Pooh Party #1 I had a Honey Pot Smash Cake made…and it was absolutely adorable. I decided that was one thing I wanted to do different at this party, so at least the cakes would be unique. And then, to save some $$, I decided to just make the cake myself. Was it professional? Absolutely NOT. But I thought it sure was cute and one friend described it as “sweet and whimsical” which was exactly what I was going for! So basically all I did was make 2, 6 inch cakes, did a very “rustic” icing coat, and then used these cake toppers from Amazon!
Oh – and how could I forget about the Eeyore Tails?!? These have been a staple (on theme of course) at several of our birthday parties. A friend of ours makes these chocolate covered pretzels, and I mean how could you NOT have Eeyore tails for your guests to take home with them??
The décor for this party was pretty simple (another benefit of the themed food!). And all of my Pooh dishes were finally put to great use – these have been Marshalls/TJ Maxx/HomeGoods finds over time!
Plus these sweet “vintage” stuffed animals…borrowed from a friend, they have made the sweetest edition to our Pooh parties and photo shoots!
And speaking od Photo Shoots…when you’re having a ONE Hundred Acre Woods birthday party, it only makes sense to have an outdoor photoshoot with Pooh and friends! And like I said, we had this photo shoot when Big Brother turned 1 as well, and I absolutely wanted to re-create the pictures (oh, and did I mention that I did their newborn photoshoots with these Pooh stuffed animals as well?
This gang was actually a Facebook Market Place find of the century! For a “Classical” Winnie the Pooh lover, like myself, these are such things that you absolutely must jump on!
My love for party planning runs deep, and my love for Winnie the Pooh runs deeper. So there you have it!
